About the book:
We are currently working with a printer to order this 2nd edition printing of Elsie Smith-Davidson's "Blistered Heels" Elsie was a granddaughter of Nathan Beecham and created the book as an account of his and other pioneer families that journeyed to settle in the West. The original publication was completed sometime between 1955 and 1970 and was only distributed among Beecham descendants. This is the 2nd printing of the book and the first time it will be available for sale to the public. Written in a voice and time of a mid-century Oklahoman, Smith-Davidson has passed down a story of hardship and tenacity that was told to her by Nathan. Her telling brings a valuable and previously unheard tale of early Western expansion and the story of how a small band of pioneers came to create a community in the prairies of Oklahoma.
